Leidos is seeking an experienced and motivated Virtualization Administrator VMware to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) on the Integrated Information Technology Support Services (I3TS) contract. This contract is a critical initiative to modernize and operate DTRAs enterprise IT systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing IT efficiency security and mission effectiveness by designing implementing and maintaining a resilient and secure network infrastructure. This role will be instrumental in supporting the agencys mission to counter and prevent emerging global threats.
Work location includes Fort Belvoir VA (Primary) and Reston VA (Temporary Secondary Location)
As the Virtualization / VMware Administrator you will be accountable for the design implementation and maintenance of our organizations virtual infrastructure focusing on VMware technologies. This role will involve managing virtual machines for servers desktops and networking components critical to the operations of our enterprise environment.
What will you do in this role
We are seeking a highly skilled Virtualization / VMware Administrator with demonstrated experience in designing deploying and managing VMware environments. You will:
Deploy and maintain VMware ESXi hosts vCenter Server and virtual machines across multiple physical sites.
Configure and manage core Omnissa VDI components including connection brokers gateways profile management and load balancing.
Provide performance tuning troubleshooting and optimization of VDI environments.
Perform regular maintenance updates and patches to ensure the security and reliability of the virtual infrastructure.
Work with infrastructure teams to integrate VDI solutions with network storage and security frameworks.
Monitor and optimize virtual infrastructure performance resource utilization and system availability.
Implement and manage VMware networking components such as distributed switches and VLANs.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to VMware virtualization technologies including performance bottlenecks connectivity problems and virtual machine management.
Work with other IT teams to design and implement infrastructure solutions that integrate with virtualization technologies and align with command requirements.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior administrators and team members to foster a deeper understanding of virtualization technologies and their role within our infrastructure.
Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions for virtual machines and infrastructure components.
Develop and maintain documentation related to virtualization architecture processes and procedures.
Evaluate and recommend new VMware technologies and solutions to enhance system performance and efficiency.
Support projects to enhance the security efficiency or capability of the virtualized environment.
Work with vendors and third-party providers for troubleshooting and issue resolution.
Ensure compliance with security policies regulations and best practices related to virtualization technologies.
Required Qualifications:
BS degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 years of prior relevant experience additional years of technical experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Current DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.
Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification (Security CE or equivalent)
Demonstrated proficiency in managing and troubleshooting VMware vSphere infrastructure.
Experience with VMware technologies including ESXi vCenter Server vSAN and vSphere Networking.
Experience with Omnissa Horizon 7/8 App Volumes Dynamic Environment Manager and UAGs.
Experience with Microsoft Active Directory Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and FSlogix.
Experience Dell Wyse client management.
Strong understanding of virtualization concepts practices and procedures.
Ability to review modify and prepare comprehensive documentation for virtualization tasks.
Desired Qualifications:
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP).
ITIL 5 Foundation Certification.
Prior work with VMware Horizon for virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).
Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible or PowerCLI for automation tasks.
Prior work within the Department of War and familiarity with its IT environments.

Pay Range $92300.00 - $166850.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
