Definition of Position:Provide health care services applying sonic energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Perform ultrasonic imaging and related procedures in the following areas: OB/GYN abdomen Breast vascular and small parts. Demonstrates anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Apply appropriate patient care and recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of the Advanced User is an individual who works as part of the Diagnostic Imaging team and has in-depth knowledge of all clinical US applications workflow and associated principals for the modality. The advanced user serves as an in-house training resource for peers vendors and applications personnel. There may be more than one advanced user designated per modality depending on Job Functions:Performs diagnostic sonography proceduresCorroborates patients clinical history with procedure assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed patient for procedures; provides instructions to obtain desired results gain cooperation and minimize and operates ultrasound equipment and associated devices to achieve desired patient and equipment to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest respecting patient ability and patients as required for appropriate ultrasonic frequencies and appropriate transducers for the anatomic area of images for technical quality assuring proper identification is informed consent for and assists a licensed practitioner with interventional aseptic techniques as responsibility for provision of physical and emotional needs of patients during agreement with state statute(s) and/or where institutional policy permits: prepares identifies and/or administers contrast media and/or medications as prescribed by a licensed basic life support action when knowledge of and observes Universal patient in maintaining records respecting confidentiality and established responsibility for assigned area and report equipment input for equipment purchase and supply practical instruction for students and/or other health care in the departments quality assessment and improvement plan. May be responsible for specific quality control duties in the assigned be responsible for control of inventory and purchase of supplies for the assigned and applies patient relations the appropriate continuing education needed to maintain license or other duties as nurses will be floated to other departments where they are qualified to perform patient care before core staff is floatedThe employee supports the hospital mission vision values policies and in required education for DNV programs as applicable to position (reference program education curriculum).Performs other related duties as :Education:Required: Associate or bachelor s degree from of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited sonography program or : NALicenses/ certifications/ registrations:Required: OBMI and ARDMS registered US Sonographer. Current BLS : CRASE training. If travel assignment extends beyond a 6-month period CRASE training will be requiredExperience:Required: Minimum of 2 years Ultrasound experience.
