Job Description

Allied Universal is hiring a Truck Gate Operator. The Truck Gate Operator will support a high-volume industrial facility in or around Peoria IL. The Truck Gate Operator is responsible for the accurate processing of commercial drivers managing yard and trailer movements and maintaining real-time data in the PINC YMS (Kaleris) Yard Management System while also ensuring secure and compliant access to the facility. The Truck Gate Operator role combines transportation and logistics coordination customer service clerical documentation and security access control.

$19.47 / hour

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Check in and check out commercial vehicles entering and exiting the facility:
    • Verify bills of lading shipment details trailer numbers and appointments
    • Update trailer dock and yard activity using supply chain and yard management solutions software
    • Track trailer inventory and maintain accurate yard status
    • Answer phone radio and email communication related to transportation flow
    • Maintain accurate logs reports and clerical documentation
    • Assist with shipping and receiving paperwork and load status updates

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current drivers license if driving a company or client-owned vehicle
  • Minimum of five (5) of years of experience in security or yard management systems
  • Experience with Transportation Manager Blue Yonder / TW Slot or any other appointment scheduling systems
  • Prior work as a gate clerk yard coordinator transportation clerk dispatcher or similar role
  • Ability to work both indoor and outdoor in a fast-paced logistics environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Prior civilian or military law enforcement experience
  • Warehouse shipping/receiving or logistics support experience
