Position Summary

Windham Academy is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Middle School Technology Teacher to teach students in grades 68. This role is focused on helping students become responsible informed and capable users of technology in an increasingly digital world.

The successful candidate will develop students digital literacy skills while teaching responsible technology use effective online research practices media literacy artificial intelligence (AI) literacy digital citizenship and other essential technology skills that prepare students for success in high school college and beyond.

The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students navigate todays digital landscape while fostering critical thinking ethical decision-making and responsible use of emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Teach technology courses to students in grades 68.
• Develop and deliver engaging lessons focused on digital literacy digital citizenship and technology fluency.
• Teach students how to effectively and responsibly research information using credible sources and evidence-based practices.
• Help students evaluate the reliability accuracy and bias of online information and media sources.
• Provide instruction on the appropriate ethical and effective use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools.
• Teach students how to utilize AI as a learning support while understanding its limitations risks and ethical considerations.
• Foster responsible online behavior internet safety privacy awareness and cybersecurity best practices.
• Develop students critical thinking skills as they navigate digital content and emerging technologies.
• Integrate real-world technology applications digital projects presentations and collaborative learning experiences.
• Support students in developing productivity skills using educational technology platforms and digital tools.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support technology integration across content areas.
• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and families.
• Maintain a positive inclusive and engaging classroom environment that promotes responsible technology use.
• Participate in professional development and school community activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Education Technology Education Instructional Technology Computer Science Library Media or a related field.
• Valid New Hampshire teaching certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Experience teaching middle school students.
• Strong understanding of digital literacy media literacy online research practices and emerging technologies.
• Knowledge of artificial intelligence tools and their educational applications.
• Ability to teach students responsible and ethical technology use.
• Strong communication collaboration and classroom management skills.
• Commitment to Windham Academys mission vision and values.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching digital literacy media literacy technology library media or STEM-related courses.
• Familiarity with AI tools and best practices for integrating AI into student learning.
• Experience teaching research skills information literacy and source evaluation.
• Knowledge of digital citizenship curricula and internet safety practices.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace for Education and other educational technology platforms.
• Experience developing project-based and inquiry-based learning experiences.
• Passion for preparing students to be thoughtful ethical and effective digital citizens.
