Technology Systems Administrator

Job Summary:To maintain the technology equipment throughout the schools in the district in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of them may be made at all times in accordance with the mission of the school district. Qualifications:Associates degree in computer technology or equivalent technician training and on the job experience; industry certifications a plusFive years experience in network installation maintenance and administration preferredExperience with network device configurations: routers switches servers printers desktops Chromebooks cameras of network architectures including LAN/WAN topologies and virtual networkingKnowledge and experience with Windows OS (workstation and server) and Microsoft Active DirectoryExperience with network and user based software applications such as Microsoft Active Directory Microsoft Office Google Suite for Education and VMwareTime management and organizational skillsExcellent interpersonal and follow-up skillsAbility to work without direct supervisionSuch alternatives to the above as the Board of Trustees find appropriate and acceptableJob Responsibilities:Perform network administration and problem resolution as they pertain to the network (local and wide area)Install configure and maintain all LAN/WAN hardware such as file servers routers firewalls switches VolP phone system and networked peripheral devicesAssists with access control systemsMaintain inventory of network devicesManage backup systemsAssists with maintenance of Internet content filtering hardware and softwareAdminister user accounts across systemsAssists in the selection of technology equipment and systemsAssists with training district personnel in the proper use of technologySupport with device repairs: desktops laptops and ChromebooksPromotes good public relations through professional and ethical execution of job other duties as job of Systems Administrator involves adapting to a changing educational environment and therefore while accurate this list is not exhaustive.
