Job Summary

Title: Technical Support Engineer
Location: Austin TX (On-site/Hybrid assumed based on location. Confirming).

Top Hard Skills:
Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD Level): Deep engineering and operational background. CKA certification is highly preferred (the team requires a minimum of 4 CKA-level engineers). CKAD-level proficiency is mandatory for all team members.
SRE / DevOps / Linux Systems Administration: Proven experience managing infrastructure automation and core Linux environments.
Git: Strong knowledge of version control workflows and repository management.

Nice-to-Have Skills:
Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience (Strong plus)
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) official certification

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical support and systems engineer who excels in Day 2 operations combining infrastructure reliability with deep containerization expertise. They have a proven track record handling air-gapped environments executing critical SOPs and managing on-call rotations for high-severity (P0/P1) incidents. They are highly technical possesses Kubernetes expertise at a CKA/CKAD level and can seamlessly cross over between infrastructure engineering and customer incident resolution.

Disqualifiers:
Lack of strong hands-on Kubernetes administration experience.
Inability to participate in the on-call rotation (including overnight P0/P1 incident management).
Lack of Git or core Linux systems administration foundational knowledge.

Team / Reporting Structure Context:
This role supports the Day 2 Operations team managing GDC air-gapped environments. The position sits at the intersection of Technical Support Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Support and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) mentoring triaging critical customer issues and driving resolution for automated infrastructure alerts.

Responsibilities:

Manage Day 2 operations and technical support within secure air-gapped environments.

Drive end-to-end incident resolution managing automated platform alerts and customer-facing infrastructure issues.

Execute validate and optimize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure peak platform reliability.

Participate in on-call rotations to manage and mitigate high-severity (P0/P1) overnight platform incidents.

Act as an infrastructure expert mentoring team members across SRE DevOps and systems administration frameworks.

Qualifications:

Deep engineering background in Kubernetes administration; alignment with CKA or CKAD level competencies is required.

Solid foundational knowledge of Git version control workflows.

Strong professional background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) DevOps Linux Systems Administration or Kubernetes cluster management.

Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to triage complex customer and system issues under pressure.

Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is considered a strong asset.

Must be located in or willing to work on-site/hybrid in Austin TX with flexibility to align with core operational hours and on-call needs.
