Technical Manager Flexible Packaging

Location: Morristown TN (100% Onsite)

Overview

A leading manufacturer of high-performance flexible and thermoformed packaging solutions is seeking a Technical Manager to serve as the primary technical resource for the plant. This individual will provide expertise in film structures adhesives printing lamination and packaging manufacturing processes while supporting new product commercialization process optimization and customer-facing technical initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flexible packaging adhesive and extrusion lamination and printing technologies along with the ability to collaborate across operations quality R&D sales and customer teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the plants primary technical expert for film characteristics adhesives printing lamination and processing technologies.
• Lead technical initiatives and collaborate closely with R&D operations quality and commercial teams.
• Manage product commercialization efforts including planning executing and supporting customer and plant trials.
• Establish and maintain product specifications process parameters quality testing requirements and manufacturing standards.
• Support customers during product trials and troubleshooting activities including occasional on-site customer visits.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality productivity cost reduction and process optimization.
• Manage technical documentation change control processes and manufacturing specifications.
• Partner with quality teams on customer audits internal audits GMP and product safety programs.
• Investigate quality concerns perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Audit raw material suppliers and equipment vendors to ensure compliance with quality and performance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a technical or engineering discipline required.
• 5 years of experience in adhesive and/or extrusion lamination within a manufacturing environment.
• 5 years of experience with rotogravure printing processes.
• Strong knowledge of flexible packaging materials converting processes and manufacturing technologies.
• Experience developing product specifications process controls and quality standards.
• Proven ability to work directly with customers suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving project management and communication skills.
