Systems Engineer- Automation

Responsibilities

• Design implement and maintain operational components in private on-prem clouds such as VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V
• Analyze processes to create and enhance operational workflows
• Be able to work closely with operational teams to build /improve cloud infrastructure
• Build and maintain monitoring alerting and trending operational tools in the cloud
• Respond to alerts; troubleshoot and resolve problems
• Be proactive in recognizing and handling uptime and performance challenges
• Perform automating using infrastructure as a code
• Automate self-provisioning of resources and services for a Private Cloud Environment
• Configure and deploy containerized micro-service components
• Troubleshoot the system and provide root cause analysis
• Provide rotational 24/7 on-call technical support

Requirements

• 2 years of systems engineering experience
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Windows or Linux environments
• Experience working in private on-prem cloud environments running VMware ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V
• Ability to create edit and maintain scripting code from Bash Powershell Python and Javascript for infrastructure configuration and building
• Experience with configuration management systems such as Ansible
• Understanding of build/automation systems such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
• Experience with infrastructure provisioning tools such as Terraform and Packer
• Ability to automate workflows via scripting for self service

• Bachelors degree in Software Engineering Computer Science Information Technology or a related STEM field

Recommended Qualifications

• Work experience with containers (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Ability to share your expertise through documentation
• Experience working with APIs (REST SOAP)
• Familiarity with ServiceNow
• Experience with private cloud platforms such as VMware VCF Automation or Morpheus
