Position : Sr. Business System Analyst
Location : Austin TX Hybrid (2 Days Onsite / 3 Days Remote) Must reside within a 50-mile radius of Austin Texas
Duration : Long term contract
Position Overview
The client is seeking an experienced Systems Analyst 2 to support Medicaid-related application enhancements and business process improvements. The selected candidate will serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams gathering requirements analyzing business processes documenting system functionality supporting testing activities and ensuring successful delivery of system enhancements.
The ideal candidate will possess strong Medicaid Claims Processing experience business analysis expertise excellent communication skills and experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Management (30%)
Conduct requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
Analyze current business processes and identify opportunities for automation and improvement.
Develop and maintain project documentation in accordance with HHSC and DIR standards.
Create use cases process flows wireframes user stories acceptance criteria and functional specifications.
Document system requirements and assess impacts of proposed enhancements.
Serve as a technical liaison between business and technical teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Design Compliance & Documentation (5%)
Ensure proposed solutions comply with HHSC architectural security and development standards.
Assist in the development of online help documentation and user support materials.
Testing & Quality Assurance (25%)
Develop test plans test cases and test scripts.
Generate and manage test data for application testing.
Execute functional integration and user acceptance testing activities.
Analyze test results and document defects.
Collaborate with development teams to resolve issues and verify fixes.
Ensure adherence to established software development and testing standards.
Project Coordination & Communication (25%)
Provide regular status updates regarding enhancement activities and issue resolution.
Communicate critical system issues to management and technical leadership.
Participate in project meetings and Agile ceremonies.
Maintain work assignments and progress updates within Azure DevOps.
Prepare and deliver presentations and reports for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Coordinate with internal teams governmental agencies and contracted service providers.
Knowledge Transfer & System Support (15%)
Facilitate knowledge sharing among project team members.
Develop and maintain system architecture documentation workflows and dependency diagrams.
Eliminate single points of failure through effective documentation and cross-training.
Recommend implementation strategies and technical solutions to stakeholders and management.
Required Qualifications
5 years of experience with Medicaid Claims Processing.
5 years of experience analyzing business objectives and identifying alternative solutions.
5 years of experience reviewing analyzing and evaluating business requirements and operational procedures.
5 years of experience documenting user requirements program functions and system modifications.
5 years of experience performing cost-benefit analyses for system enhancements and alternatives.
5 years of experience documenting data input/output requirements and reporting formats.
5 years of experience using Azure DevOps including requirements management and wireframe creation.
Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities.
Knowledge of IT industry trends emerging technologies and enterprise architecture concepts.
Understanding of data integrity security best practices technology standards and governance.
Experience working within Agile and Scrum delivery methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Project Delivery Framework.
Familiarity with DIR project documentation templates and standards.
Understanding of enterprise information architecture and information management methodologies.
