Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to support surgical instrument reprocessing in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in decontamination assembly and sterilization while maintaining strict adherence to industry standards and infection control protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Follow ANSI/AAMI standards manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFUs) and internal SOPs
Decontaminate surgical instruments using appropriate PPE and infection control procedures
Disassemble clean inspect and reassemble complex surgical instruments
Accurately assemble and package instrument trays
Operate sterilization equipment including washers disinfectors and autoclaves
Inspect instruments for cleanliness functionality and damage prior to sterilization
Maintain documentation of sterilization cycles and instrument tracking
Monitor inventory levels and ensure availability of required supplies
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of sterilization equipment
Required Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Certifications
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or equivalent (e.g. CIS)
Experience & Skills
Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience
Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques (steam sterilization infection control practices)
Familiarity with ANSI/AAMI standards and IFUs
Experience operating washer disinfectors autoclaves and related equipment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively
Basic computer proficiency and documentation skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in quality control within sterile processing
