Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST) for an 8-week contract opportunity in a high-volume acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will support surgical services and central sterile processing operations ensuring the safe cleaning sterilization and preparation of surgical instruments and medical equipment in compliance with infection control and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform decontamination cleaning disinfection and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment
Operate washers sterilizers and high-level disinfection (HLD) equipment per facility protocols
Prepare inspect assemble and distribute surgical trays case carts and specialty instrument sets
Ensure proper selection and use of sterilization wraps and packaging materials
Process and manage specialty surgical instrumentation across multiple departments
Monitor sterilization cycles using biological and chemical indicators
Perform steam sterilization testing and routine monitoring procedures
Support immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS) when required
Maintain accurate documentation for sterilization cycles equipment tracking and inventory control
Clean and disinfect crash carts IV pumps PCA pumps and other clinical equipment
Ensure full compliance with infection prevention and regulatory guidelines
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required
CRCST certification required
Minimum 1 year of central sterile processing experience
Strong knowledge of surgical instruments autoclaves and sterilization systems
Ability to lift push and pull heavy equipment as needed
Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
