Job Summary
Position Overview: The Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Technician cleans disinfects and sterilizes all instruments used for surgical procedures and patient care performs all daily biological and sterile supply testing and maintains logs for each functions throughout the facility to organize and direct instrument needs to units assists clinical operations as needed with endoscopy procedures stocks and orders supplies for unit as directed and will be responsible for understanding and being fully involved in completion of competencies based on AVH policies AORN AAMI HSPA and CER standards that are used as guidelines for SPD practices. The SPD Technician will be an active member of the entire department with the ability to help in roles outside of surgically specific job duties if needed.
