The North Carolina Community College System (System Office) is a statewide network of 58 public community colleges. The system enrolls over 500000 students annually. It is the 3rd largest in the nation based on the number of colleges. Description of Work
The State Director guides the continued evolution of NCEdge Customized Training by identifying opportunities for innovation strengthening stakeholder engagement and positioning the program to respond to emerging workforce and industry trends across North Carolina.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
This position leads efforts to support business growth workforce responsiveness talent development and economic competitiveness through industry-driven training solutions delivered in partnership with North Carolinas community colleges employers workforce organizations and economic development partners.
The State Director is responsible for advancing statewide employer engagement strategies supporting operational excellence strengthening cross-sector partnerships and ensuring NCEdge Customized Training remains responsive to evolving workforce and industry needs across North Carolina.
This position serves as a senior leader within the Economic Development Division and works collaboratively across programs System Office teams community colleges and external partners to advance integrated workforce and economic development strategies. The ideal leader for this role is someone who embraces change and isnt afraid to challenge the status quo.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
RESUMES ARE REQUIRED
Bachelors degree in business workforce development education public administration economic development or a related field.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in workforce development economic development employer engagement education business services or program leadership.
Experience managing staff partnerships operations or statewide initiatives.
Experience working collaboratively with external stakeholders and industry partners.
Experience utilizing data systems CRM platforms preferably Salesforce or reporting tools to support operations and performance management.
