Job Summary
Amazon Prime Air (PA) is seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager to oversee the development of software functionality within our ultra-fast drone delivery operations.
This role will be responsible for ensuring high standards for certifying airborne systems working closely with software and hardware engineering staff powering a flywheel of continuous improvement in drone design and system integration.
You will oversee software development integration of software and hardware verification and validation configuration management and quality assurance to ensure compliance to Design Assurance Levels and software development standards. Strong cross-functional engineering fundamentals skills are essential as well as strong technical communication and documentation skills. Your ability to translate complex system functions into digestible insights and summarize effectively with stakeholders at all levels will be critical to success in this role.
Key job responsibilities
- Own and drive system and software-level milestone tracking and implementation dependency mapping risk management and schedule updates.
- Oversee software development verification configuration management and quality assurance to ensure compliance to Design Assurance Levels and software development standards
- Communicate effectively across all organizational levels presenting strategies and results to senior leadership and operational partners
- 5 years of technical product or program management experience
- 7 years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5 years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams building processes and coordinating release schedules
- 5 years of project management disciplines including scope schedule budget quality along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
