Job Summary
We are looking for a Sr. Technical Program Manager who will own the end-to-end delivery of complex cross-functional programs that span AI/LLM-powered calendar experiences platform reliability and international expansion. This is a high-impact role: youll drive programs from strategy through launch across a multi-team engineering organization ensuring Alexa Calendar delivers world-class experiences to customers globally on voice-first devices multimodal screens and companion apps.
You thrive in ambiguity bring structure to complex technical landscapes and can influence without authority across engineering product design and science teams. You have a track record of shipping large-scale consumer products powered by AI and deep systems integration.
Key job responsibilities
Own end-to-end program execution from strategy definition through launch and post-launch metrics for initiatives spanning AI-powered scheduling natural language understanding for calendar intent multi-turn agentic interactions and proactive time-management experiences.
Drive platform reliability and operational excellence establish mechanisms for availability latency management load testing and incident response across Calendars distributed service architecture ensuring always-on reliability for hundreds of millions of customers.
Lead cross-functional programs spanning 10 teams coordinate across Calendar engineering AI/ML science product UX partner integrations (Google Microsoft Apple calendar providers) and Alexa platform teams to deliver cohesive multi-year roadmaps.
Own international expansion and localization programs drive Calendars launch into new countries and locales managing the complexity of regional calendar conventions provider availability regulatory requirements and locale-specific AI model quality.
Influence technical architecture decisions leverage your engineering background to evaluate trade-offs in LLM integration latency-sensitive UX multi-device synchronization and agentic AI system design guiding teams toward scalable solutions.
Manage executive communication and stakeholder alignment craft narratives that translate complex technical programs into clear customer and business impact driving alignment across VP leadership and cross-org partners.
About the team
The Alexa Calendar team builds the intelligent time-management experiences that customers rely on every day from simple voice-created events to complex multi-account scheduling proactive day briefings and AI-powered scheduling assistance. We operate across voice-first multimodal (Echo Show Fire TV) and mobile companion surfaces serving customers in 10 countries. Our technical stack spans real-time calendar synchronization with third-party providers LLM-powered natural language understanding agentic AI for multi-step scheduling tasks and a React Native visual experience layer. We are in an exciting transformation period moving from traditional intent-based interactions to fully agentic AI experiences powered by large language models while maintaining the reliability and latency that customers expect.
- 7 years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5 years of technical product or program management experience
- 3 years of software development experience
- 5 years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams building processes and coordinating release schedules
- 5 years of project management disciplines including scope schedule budget quality along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
