Brunswicks Special Education Department is excited to advertise for the position of a Speech Language Pathologist. We are seeking a dynamic organized creative individual to join our current team of four SLPs to provide speech therapy services to special education students in grades PreK-12 as appropriate. A successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills a high degree of self-motivation an independent work ethic an ability to build positive relationships with families and a willingness to collaborate with special educators regular educators service providers and administrators as appropriate.
Successful candidates will be able to:
Evaluate and treat speech language voice fluency and dysphagia within a multidisciplinary treatment team;
Provide consultation direct service and modeling both in and out of regular and special education classrooms to develop a total language/communication environment;
Participate in screening processes as appropriate;
Collaborate with special and regular educators in the development implementation and coordination of services through the IEP process;
Provide professional development in area of expertise to Department employees as requested by the Director of Special Education;
Complete special education documentation in accordance with Department expectations as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
Participate in MaineCare Billing as appropriate
Qualifications:
Maine Speech/Language Pathologist Licensure
Certificate of Clinical Competence ASHA
Valid Maine Criminal History Records Check
