Architects are responsible for activities such as:
Solution Architecture & System Design: Designing the overall system architecture analyzing requirements considering performance scalability security and usability aspects and creating a blueprint for the applications structure.
Tool Evaluation Technology Selection POT/POC: Evaluate and select appropriate technologies frameworks and platforms for building the application. This involves considering factors such as platform compatibility development time maintainability and future scalability.
API Design: Design the application programming interfaces (APIs) that enable communication between different components of the application and ensure that APIs are well-defined efficient and easy to use by other developers.
Performance Optimization: Optimize the performance of applications by implementing best practices such as efficient algorithms data caching and minimizing network requests. Conduct performance testing and profiling to identify and address bottlenecks.
Security Implementation: Responsible for incorporating security measures into the application architecture to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access. This includes implementing the following measures (but not limited to) encryption authentication authorization and secure communication protocols.
Scalability Planning: Anticipate future growth and plan for scalability by designing the architecture in a way that can accommodate increasing user loads and feature expansions without compromising performance or stability.
Code Review and Guidance: Provide guidance and support to development teams by reviewing code (manual and automated) offering technical expertise and ensuring that coding standards and best practices are followed throughout the development lifecycle.
Integration Architecture and Management: Integration with various applications/systems including third-party services libraries and APIs into the application architecture. Ensure seamless interaction and compatibility with existing components.
Documentation and Training: The architecture design decisions APIs and technical specifications of the application. Putting together architecture artifacts for ARB review. Provide training sessions to development teams to ensure a clear understanding of the architecture and best practices.
Business architecture roadmap and implement the expansion of business capabilities as well as technical capabilities.
Additional Capabilities.
Understanding of platform capabilities and client utilization.
Platform health and technical debt.
Alignment with data architects and data resources.
Be application capabilities SME.
Understand OOTB capabilities.
Implementation launch and warranty support.
Production support issue triage and remediation.
Architects are a key cornerstone of technology-enabled business strategies. As such we expect architects to drive business architecture and the planning of capability enablement. The positions need to maintain in-depth knowledge of the companys strategic business plans and how best to enable proficiency in business operations. Play a pivotal role in shaping the technical foundation of applications ensuring they are robust scalable secure and performant.
The role has in-depth knowledge of the companys existing IT architecture/infrastructure capabilities maturity and technology portfolio. Architects must have deep subject matter expertise regarding the platform its use and its opportunities.
Architects must be versed in Technology Solution and Integration architecture. These leadership roles provide architectural consulting expertise direction and assistance to other systems architects systems analysts and the broader product/application teams.
Architects would be responsible for the identification and selection of appropriate services based on requirements and constraints. Planning (roadmap feasibility level of effort) and deployment of technologies require the architect to have a deep and quarterly refreshed understanding of OOTB capabilities. The role will evaluate new technologies (including proofs of technology/concept) that fit in current infrastructure architecture.
To ensure successful implementation the architect is integral to the entire SDLC starting from planning tool/partner selection design (including gaining approvals from architectural review boards and centers of excellence) implementation (including quality audits) launch warranty and production support. The architect must also perform manual and automated code reviews coach developers on remediations / best practices and provide leadership and quality oversight of code conditions. The architect must also triage issues during Development actively minimize technical debt and provide on-call support for Production issues.
The individual must be proactive and actively involved in advancing agendas. They must be active technical leader accountable and create recommendations and multi-month to-do lists. We are not looking for architects who stand by to answer questions only on occasion and take no ownership. The architect must be directly responsible for deliverables certification and application quality.
