What will you be doing
Building engaging modern UI for chat-based analytics and complex data visualizations (charts dashboards layouts) with a focus on performance and craft
Defining and building novel UX paradigms for analytical and agentic workflows in an AI-native product
Collaborating in cross-functional feature teams (frontend backend intelligence engineers) to deliver end-to-end product experiences
Shaping engineering culture tech stack decisions and mentoring as the frontend team grows from 8 to 10 engineers
2 - 6 years of experience in frontend or frontend-heavy fullstack engineering experience
Built customer-facing frontend-heavy product features at a fast-paced company (e.g. complex UI like dashboards visualizations or rich interactive workflows; team/product context matters more than company name)
Early or founding engineer at a startup (01 building experience signals high ownership and scrappiness)
BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
Top 30 CS program (more important for junior 2-3 YOE candidates)
Production experience with React and TypeScript
Experience with charting/visualization libraries (e.g. D3 Recharts Victory or similar)
or backend proficiency (for fullstack candidates)
High ownership high agency: takes problems end-to-end in a fast-paced low-process startup environment
Comfortable working directly with customers and incorporating feedback
Must be authorized to work in the US: no H-1B transfers no F-1 OPT; TN visa is acceptable
Able to work 5 days/week in-person in San Mateo CA (relocation within reasonable timeframe OK if candidate is genuinely committed)
