Are you a skilled building engineer ready to take the next step into a leadership role Were looking for a Lead Operating Engineer to oversee the operation maintenance and performance of two commercial office buildings in the St. Paul metro area. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys solving complex mechanical issues leading by example and keeping commercial facilities operating at peak performance.

Lead daily maintenance operations across two commercial office buildings
Supervise contractors and ensure work is completed safely efficiently and with minimal disruption
Perform installation maintenance troubleshooting and repair of HVAC electrical plumbing and mechanical systems
Create prioritize and complete work orders while managing preventative maintenance schedules
Diagnose equipment failures and implement effective repairs to maximize system reliability
Support building operations including life safety systems structural components and critical equipment
Ensure compliance with safety procedures including LOTO JHA hot work permits and hazardous material handling
Train and mentor maintenance team members on equipment operation troubleshooting and safe work practices
Maintain inventory of tools equipment and maintenance supplies
Partner with facility leadership to deliver exceptional building performance and customer service
High school diploma or equivalent
Trade school education in HVAC refrigeration electrical systems or equivalent hands-on experience
5 years of commercial building maintenance or plant engineering experience
Strong working knowledge of HVAC electrical plumbing mechanical life safety and building systems
Experience troubleshooting and repairing commercial facility equipment
Ability to diagnose system issues and perform complex repairs
Comfortable using Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance systems
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a variety of physical positions throughout the day
EPA certification preferred
Previous experience as a Lead Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor
Experience with CMMS and Building Management Systems (BMS)
Strong customer service and communication skills
Knowledge of commercial building codes and safety regulations
Experience coordinating contractors and vendors
Leadership role with a balance of hands-on technical work and team development
