Software Development Manager, Fire TV Search & Discovery

Alexa Video teams mission is to provide best in class content search and discovery experience on all Alexa endpoints like Fire TV Echo Show Alexa app etc. We do that by using state of the art AI technologies such as Large Language Model and other deep learning techniques while also developing differentiated customer interfaces like conversational search.

As Software Development Manager you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers who would develop software systems to develop LLM facing APIs and conversation interface to render the video search and play back experience across different end points. A successful candidate would have background on GenAI and prompt engineering . The candidate would have experience developing customer-facing experiences excellent project management skills great communication skills and a motivation to achieve results in ambiguous and fast changing environment.

- Management of departmental resources staffing mentoring career development performance management of a best-of-class engineering team.



- 3 years of engineering team management experience
- 7 years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3 years of designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

- Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
