Senior Product Manager Tech, AWS Application Protection

Are you passionate about availability and security The Perimeter Protection organization at AWS helps protect customers of AWS and against DDoS attacks and web application threats. Customers rely on our four services AWS Shield AWS WAF AWS Network Firewall and AWS Firewall Manager to protect application availability across their organization so they can focus on growing their business.

The AWS WAF team is looking for a Sr. Product Manager to help us build new services and improve our existing services for internal and external customers. You will work closely with customers other Amazon teams and software engineers to identify opportunities to launch new products and continually improve the AWS WAF service. You will also be responsible for defining customer focused feature sets identifying bold bets diving deep into service metrics network analytics pricing and bundling and being the overall business owner of the product.

Successful candidates will enjoy working in a collaborative analytical and fast-paced environment and are comfortable interacting with highly technical cross-functional teams. Candidates must have excellent analytical capabilities be comfortable diving deep into data have strong writing skills and lead executive-level reviews. Candidates must have a track record of understanding customer needs and delivering technology solutions to address those needs. This is a highly visible position that will interact at all levels of the AWS business.

About the team
AWS WAF is a web application firewall that helps protect customers web apps or APIs against common web exploits and bots that may affect availability compromise security or consume excessive resources. AWS WAF gives customers control over how traffic reaches their applications hosted on Amazon CloudFront ALB API Gateway or AppSync by enabling them to create security rules that control bot traffic and block common attack patterns such as SQL injection or cross-site scripting.

- 5 years of technical product management with internet business experience
- 5 years of working as a Technical Product Manager experience
- 3 years of technical (software development network development IT other related) experience
- Experience in taking a product from conception & definition phase through engineering design and taking it to market
- Experience delivering large-scale SaaS PaaS or LaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle from concept through GTM (go to market)

- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
- Experience working within teams delivering software products and features using agile methodologies

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
