As a Senior Data Scientiston the Supply Chain Analytical Solutions team youll take the lead on solving complex supply chain challenges that directly impact how products move from warehouses to customers. Youll work across transportation distribution and fulfillment turning messy data into clear actionable insights. This is a hands-on high-impact role where youll frame problems select appropriate methodologies develop solutions and see your work drive real results. If you enjoy tackling ambiguous problems and influencing decisions youll find this work both challenging and rewarding. A strong candidate will have a proventrack recordofleveragingadvanced data science and operations research techniques to improve operationalperformance andproducing solutions that deliver measurable business value and inform operational decisions.

This role is hybrid which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. What youll do

• Lead the formulation and execution of complex ambiguous analytics problems across supply chain domains owning solutions end to endfrom problem framing andmethodologyselection through deployment monitoring and measurement of business impact.
• Serve as a trusted analytics advisor tofulfillmentlogistics and operations partnersto translate business context intomodels that drivemeasurable business impact throughimproveddecisions.
• Partner crossfunctionally with supply chain technology data engineering and product teams to ensure analytical solutions are productionready scalable and adopted.
• Effectively communicate with diverse audiencesincluding technical teams business stakeholders and executive leadershipthrough both written and verbalchannels.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Data Scientists and Decision Scientists raising analytical rigor solution quality and consistency across the team.
• Explore and apply emerging analytics methods and technologies to advancesupply chain capabilities whileestablishingand reinforcing best practices for documentation reproducibility validation and analytical standards.

Basic qualifications

• Bachelors degree in mathematics statistics economics computer science operations research industrial engineering or a related quantitative field

• 4 years of relevant experience in research and/or a quantitative field including 3 years of applied or industry experience or equivalent experience.
• 4yearshands-on experience using data analytics (e.g. SQL Python R) and machinelearningand/or optimization tools (i.e. Python RGurobi Vertex AI).
• 2 years of experience working with large structured and unstructured datasets
• Ability to deliver solutions that drive measurable business outcomes
• Demonstratedtrack recordof delivering analytics solutions that providemeasurablebusiness valueandinfluencedecisions.
• Familiarity with and hands-on application of more than one analytical or modeling paradigm such as optimizationmachine learningartificial intelligencestatistical modeling simulation or other operations research techniques applied to realworld business problems.

Preferred qualifications

• Masters or PhD in a quantitative discipline
• Experience in retail supply chain logistics or fulfillment
