Responsibilities:

The Custody Officer is responsible for the care custody safety security and supervision of inmates housed within the jail facility. This position requires strong communication clerical observation and decision-making skills while maintaining compliance with all local state and federal regulations. Custody Officers must be capable of working independently in a secure correctional environment and performing duties that ensure the safety of inmates staff and the public.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must successfully complete a Title 15 STC-certified course within the first year of employment in compliance with BSCC requirements.

Must be physically fit and capable of passing all state-required testing and training standards.

Must obtain CPR/AED certification and Food Handler certification upon completion of probation.

Qualifications: (MUST HAVE)

Be at least 18 years of age or higher if required by the state

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  *A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only
• Be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
