A Brief Overview
The Security Clearance Associate Manager leads the team responsible for personnel security clearances and badging ensuring processes are inclusive accessible and compliant. This role supports adherence to federal regulations Department of State contractual requirements and organizational policies while driving continuous process improvement. The Associate Manager provides daytoday team leadership and works closely with internal and external stakeholders including customers to ensure equitable access and effective service delivery. This missiondriven role delivers accessible empathetic support to Peckham team members and staff requiring security credentials.
What you will do
- Supervise daily operations of Peckhams Administrative Security team ensuring timely and accurate processing of security clearances and PIV badges for all new hires.
- Utilize document and implement inclusive practices that effectively support employees during the clearance process.
- Support point of contact for government customers and external partners regarding security clearance and badging processes providing updates resolving issues and ensuring alignment with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Provide coaching training and performance feedback to Security Clearance Specialists and Badging Specialists.
- Partner with leadership to address escalation of complex clearance and badging-related issues in partnership with leadership coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve barriers and ensure employees have the resources needed to complete required processes.
- Effectively collaborate with Human Resources and Mission Initiatives teams to coordinate onboarding activities and ensure compliance with organizational policies and government security clearance and badging requirements.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and leadership across contact center solutions to align processes resolve issues and support efficient clearance-related onboarding and employee readiness.
- Maintain strong working relationships with government security representatives and customer stakeholders to support timely and compliant clearance processing and onboarding.
- Track monitor and report on clearance and badging-related metrics identifying trends ensuring accuracy timeliness and adherence to government standards.
- Continuously evaluate team processes for efficiency quality and risk reduction to provide meaningful recommendations and implementing improvements.
- Ensure confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive personnel information.
- Provide guidance and support for complex or denied cases ensuring employees receive appropriate communication and support; escalating complex cases to leadership.
- Design and deliver training sessions for staff on government security clearance processes requirements and best practices.
- support the adjustments of internal processes as impacted by federal/government policy changes to ensure continued compliance
- Partner with supervisors managers and Vocational Services Specialists (VSS) to support team members throughout the clearance process providing guidance communication and advocacy when necessary.
- Provide ongoing support and communication to staff regarding their clearance status and consult with internal partners to address clearance requirements status and barriers to employees navigating the process.
What you will Need
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Public Administration Security Management or/an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 Years of experience in personnel security or clearance coordination.
- 1 Years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Previous experience supporting or working with people with disabilities and/or diverse learning styles.
- Strong understanding of federal clearance processes and ADA compliance.
- Excellent communication leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced confidential environment.
- Ability to stay up to date on changing federal regulations and policies impacting security clearance process.
Nice to have
- Experience working in government contracting defense or public sector environments.

Physical Demands: Office and Administrative Support
The general nature of this position operates in a professional office environment. The environment has standard office lighting temperature and noise levels. The role involves prolonged periods working on a computer and engaging in virtual or in-person meetings. Additionally it also requires the ability to sit for extended periods use standard office equipment and perform repetitive tasks such as typing and data entry. The role may involve light lifting (up to 20 pounds) and occasional standing or walking.
