Registered Nurse (RN) Telemetry Stepdown

Location: Cincinnati OH 45219
Pay Rate: $47/hour - $56/hour
Duration: 8 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift 12-Hour Shifts
Hours: 36 Hours per Week
Schedule: 3 Days/Week (Every Other Weekend Required)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for an 8-week Telemetry Stepdown contract assignment. This role involves caring for cardiac and vascular patients requiring continuous telemetry monitoring and stepdown-level care. The nurse will provide specialized care for patients recovering from vascular and electrophysiology procedures acute cardiac conditions and heart failure while managing cardiac drips and rhythm interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Assess plan implement and evaluate individualized patient care plans

• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry data

• Manage and titrate cardiac drips including Amiodarone Lasix Cardizem Dopamine Dobutamine and Milrinone

• Provide care for patients recovering from vascular and electrophysiology procedures

• Care for patients with acute MI cardiac arrhythmias syncope cardiomyopathy and heart failure

• Administer medications and monitor patient responses

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

• Perform accurate patient assessments and ongoing monitoring

• Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans and recovery

• Maintain detailed and timely documentation in accordance with facility standards

• Adhere to professional nursing standards and regulatory guidelines

Unit Details

• 28-bed Cardiac Medical Stepdown Unit

• Specializes in post-vascular and electrophysiology procedure recovery

• Provides care for cardiac patients requiring continuous monitoring

• Titration of multiple IV cardiac medications

• Conscious sedation support for cardioversion procedures

• Strong cardiac-focused environment with ACLS-certified nursing staff

• Excellent transition unit for nurses interested in ICU careers

Requirements

• Active Ohio RN License or Compact RN License

• Diploma in Nursing (BSN preferred)

• Minimum 2 years of Stepdown Nursing experience

• Experience managing cardiac drips and vasoactive medications

• Strong telemetry monitoring and ECG/heart rhythm interpretation skills

• Ability to provide age-specific and culturally competent patient care

• Excellent communication teamwork and critical thinking skills

• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and professional standards

Required Certifications

• AHA BLS Certification

• AHA ACLS Certification

• Ohio RN License or Compact RN License

Preferred

• Experience with Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD)

• Experience caring for post-open heart surgery patients

• Experience with cardiac catheterization recovery patients

• Experience with vascular surgery and advanced cardiac patient populations

Float Requirement
