Required Skills

8 years of experience in UI/Web development
Strong expertise in React (or similar modern JS frameworks)
Solid understanding of JavaScript fundamentals (closures async programming event-driven architecture)
Experience with state management tools (e.g. Redux Context API or similar)
Proficiency in HTML CSS and responsive design principles
Familiarity with frontend build tools (e.g. Webpack or similar)
Understanding of browser performance and rendering behavior
Strong problem-solving communication and collaboration skills

Overview

We are seeking a Senior UI Developer with strong experience in modern JavaScript frameworks particularly React to support high-visibility enterprise applications. This role involves building intuitive high-performance user interfaces for data-driven platforms in an innovation-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop responsive scalable UI components using modern JavaScript frameworks (React preferred)
Translate business and functional requirements into engaging user interfaces
Collaborate with backend developers product teams and stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions
Contribute to UI/UX decisions especially in scenarios with limited design support
Optimize applications for performance scalability and cross-browser compatibility
Participate in code reviews and follow best practices for UI development
Support deployment processes and CI/CD pipelines in cloud-based environments
Create prototypes and iterate based on feedback

Preferred Skills

Experience working with cloud platforms (any major provider)
Exposure to data visualization or dashboard-based applications
Basic understanding of UX/design principles
Experience in regulated or enterprise environments

Additional Notes

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential
Candidates should be comfortable working in a hybrid/onsite setup in Chicago
Strong communication and ability to work across teams is essential
