About the Position

Mitchell Technical College (MTC) is seeking a visionary and experienced leader to fill the dual role of Radiologic Technology Program Director / Faculty Instructor for our Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited Associate of Applied Science (AAS) program.

This full-time leadership position begins August 2026. It provides an exceptional opportunity to direct curriculum strategy maintain rigorous accreditation compliance standards and directly shape the next generation of skilled medical imaging professionals in a supportive student-centered environment.

Program Overview

The Radiologic Technology program at Mitchell Technical College is a comprehensive 21-month AAS degree that seamlessly combines rigorous didactic instruction hands-on laboratory training and clinical rotations across a diverse network of healthcare facilities in South Dakota. Students receive premier training in radiographic positioning patient care radiation safety imaging equipment pathology and advanced modalities. Graduates are fully prepared for successful careers in hospitals clinics and medical offices and are eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) national certification examination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership & Administration: Provide overarching strategic leadership for the program managing budget allocations short- and long-term planning and faculty collaboration.
  • JRCERT Accreditation Compliance: Serve as the primary point of contact for JRCERT ensuring absolute adherence to all accreditation standards organizing self-studies and leading site visit preparations.
  • Instructional Delivery: Develop and deliver engaging high-quality didactic and laboratory lesson plans in alignment with the ASRT curriculum guidelines.
  • Curriculum & Assessment: Spearhead continuous curriculum development review and systematic program assessment to maintain maximum educational efficacy.

Minimum Qualifications (JRCERT Compliant)

  • Education: Masters degree required or a bachelors degree and willingness to obtain a masters degree
  • Credentials: Current professional credentials in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years (6000 hours) of professional clinical experience in the radiologic sciences.
  • Skills: Proven administrative leadership and instructional capability with exceptional communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Background: Must successfully pass a state and federal criminal background check.
