Description

The Center on Aging and Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Wound Care to join our team in Erwin. This full-time on-site position provides an exceptional opportunity to contribute to patient care while also educating future Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) through our teaching program.

As a Wound Care RN your primary focus will be on providing high-quality care to patients with complex wound addition to direct patient care you will be responsible for teaching CNA classes ensuring that the next generation of caregivers is well-equipped with the essential skills and knowledge they need. This role is vital in fostering a supportive environment for both patients and trainees contributing to the overall mission of our hospital/health care industry.

Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients with wound care needs
  • Administer treatments and medications as prescribed
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary
  • Conduct CNA classes providing education on general nursing practices
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information
  • Educate patients and their families about wound management and prevention
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities
Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state
  • Previous experience in wound care is preferred but not mandatory for entry-level candidates
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Basic knowledge of nursing practices and patient care standards
