Traveler Pay: $24 $26/hr ($900 $975/week) Local Pay: $21 $23/hr ($787 $862/week) (Based on experience)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Technician to support sterile processing operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of instrument cleanliness tray assembly accuracy sterilization quality and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong sterile processing knowledge attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety and process excellence.
Responsibilities
Follow ANSI/AAMI standards manufacturer IFUs SOPs and internal work instructions
Decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment using proper PPE and infection control procedures
Disassemble clean inspect and reassemble complex surgical instruments
Assemble and package instrument trays accurately according to established guidelines
Operate sterilizers washer disinfectors and related sterile processing equipment safely and effectively
Inspect instruments for cleanliness damage and functionality prior to sterilization and packaging
Document missing damaged or malfunctioning instruments according to established procedures
Maintain accurate sterilization logs instrument tracking documentation and inventory records
Monitor inventory levels and assist with supply management activities
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of processing equipment and work areas
Ensure compliance with infection control standards and company quality assurance protocols
Communicate effectively with sterile processing operations and distribution teams
Participate in training competency assessments and continuous process improvement initiatives
Support additional duties and projects as assigned by leadership
Frequent exposure to biohazardous materials and strong odors
Extended standing periods and regular PPE usage required
Qualifications
Minimum two (2) years of hands-on sterile processing experience required
Strong understanding of decontamination assembly sterilization and infection control procedures
Knowledge of ANSI/AAMI standards and manufacturer IFUs
Experience operating autoclaves washer disinfectors and sterilization equipment
Strong attention to detail organizational skills and manual dexterity
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a team-oriented environment
Basic computer and electronic tracking system proficiency required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Previous quality control or quality assurance experience in sterile processing
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Certifications & Licensure
Current Sterile Processing Certification required (CRCST CIS or equivalent)
