Job Summary
Project Overview
Client is seeking a Senior Performance Test Engineer to support the performance quality and reliability of enterprise systems released into production. This is a hands-on performance testing role focused on performance engineering throughout the entire testing lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing scripting executing monitoring and analyzing performance tests across large-scale enterprise platforms. Candidates must have deep expertise with LoadRunner and JMeter and should be actively involved in day-to-day performance testing activities rather than serving primarily in management QA analyst or automation-focused roles.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring applications meet performance service-level agreements (SLAs) business objectives and production readiness standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive performance testing strategies plans and test scenarios.
- Design build and maintain performance testing scripts using LoadRunner and JMeter.
- Execute performance load stress spike and endurance/stability testing.
- Analyze application behavior and performance metrics including response times throughput latency error rates CPU utilization and memory consumption.
- Monitor application performance using tools such as Dynatrace Datadog and other monitoring platforms.
- Gather and analyze usage data to understand customer behavior and user transaction flows.
- Identify test data requirements and collaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare and maintain test environments.
- Coordinate performance testing activities with project managers developers and business stakeholders.
- Produce detailed test reports and communicate findings risks and recommendations.
- Track document and report performance-related defects and assist development teams with issue resolution.
- Lead performance testing efforts across enterprise projects and ensure proper test coverage.
- Recommend and implement improvements to performance testing processes methodologies and tools.
- Stay current with emerging performance engineering technologies AI-assisted testing capabilities and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems Business Administration or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Performance Engineer or Performance Test Engineer.
- Proven experience performing hands-on performance testing throughout the full testing lifecycle.
