Job Summary

As a Propulsion Component Engineer you will own all aspects of spacecraft solenoid valve design from concept to product realization while working closely with a fast-paced agile team that strives to make a high-performance spacecraft from a clean sheet design.


Responsibilities


  • Own all aspects of component design from concept to product realization
  • Generate detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings
  • Perform fluid thermal structural and magnetic analysis as required
  • Work with the team and external sources to procure materials fabricate parts and complete assemblies
  • Provide technical support for test operations
  • Resolve technical issues with innovative and resourceful solutions


Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelors degree in engineering or science
  • 3 years of experience in solenoid valve or electromagnetic component design
  • Hands-on experience working with fluid and mechanical systems
  • Proficiency in CAD software with ability to learn new tools
  • Capable of performing structural magnetic and thermal analysis in support of design
  • Demonstrated ability in requirements definition conceptual design procurement fabrication assembly and testing of hardware


Preferred Skills and Experience


  • Experience designing and operating high reliability high performance hardware
  • Experience with on-orbit propulsion solenoid valves
  • Experience in a startup or agile development environment

  • Flexible schedule and willing to travel as needed


Additional Information:

Compensation bands are determined by role level location and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills education experience technical capabilities and internal addition to base salary for full-time hires you may also be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of stock options and access to medical vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
