About the Role

Superior Skilled Trades is partnered with a company seeking a Project Engineer to support the execution of structural steel and related building scopes for mission-critical infrastructure projects including large-scale data center developments.

This role is responsible for coordinating technical deliverables tracking project progress and ensuring alignment between engineering procurement fabrication and construction activities. The Project Engineer will play a critical role in maintaining accuracy consistency and flow across all project phases in fast-paced high-performance environments.

This position begins with a strong focus on structural steel execution and is structured to expand into broader multi-discipline responsibilities over time providing a clear pathway for professional growth into project management and program leadership roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a comprehensive document control system to ensure all drawings specifications RFIs submittals and revisions are current and properly distributed for design fabrication and field execution.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with cost estimating for structural steel components materials and labor to support bids budgets and change orders.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues during design development fabrication erection and commissioning phases.
  • Support project scheduling by analyzing critical path activities dependencies and resource requirements to help maintain aggressive hyperscale delivery timelines.
  • Prepare technical documentation including submittals shop drawing packages as-built documentation and project reports in accordance with quality and compliance standards.
  • Track project progress and assist in identifying risks delays and coordination issues providing solutions to maintain schedule and budget alignment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by researching and implementing tools processes and technologies that enhance steel engineering and construction execution.
  • Assist in coordination between engineering procurement fabrication and field teams to ensure seamless project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Structural Engineering Construction Management or related field.
  • 3 years of relevant experience supporting structural steel projects in industrial or data center environments.
  • Strong understanding of structural steel detailing fabrication erection and building systems.
  • Experience with document control RFIs submittals quantity takeoffs and change management processes.
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools BIM workflows and construction/project management software (Primavera P6 Procore or similar).
  • Strong technical writing analytical and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
  • Eagerness and ability to grow into broader project and technical leadership responsibilities.
