Job Summary
Program Coordinator Learn & Earn Program
Hourly Rate: $24.04 per hour commensurate with experience.
Department: Youth Workforce Development Reports To: Program Director FLSA
Status: Part-Time Non-exempt Hourly Schedule: Part-Time 20 hours per week
Work Schedule: Flexible schedule based on program needs. Hours may include school-day programming after-school activities occasional evenings and special events.
Work Location: Q258 Energy Tech High School 36-41 28th Street Long Island City NY 11106
Hybrid Schedule: Employees are required to work in-person a minimum of four (4) days per week. Additional in-person days may be required based on program needs events participant activities or employer engagement activities.

Job Summary:
HANAC Inc. seeks a dynamic and youth-focused Learn & Earn Program Coordinator to oversee the implementation of the DYCD Learn & Earn Program. The Program Coordinator will provide leadership coordination and direct support services to high school juniors and seniors who are at risk of dropping out of school. The program provides participants with academic support career exploration work readiness training paid internship opportunities post-secondary planning and follow-up services to ensure successful transitions to employment college vocational training or other career pathways.
The Program Coordinator is responsible for managing day-to-day program operations maintaining compliance with all NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) contractual requirements developing partnerships monitoring participant progress and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Coordination & Youth Development
Coordinate and facilitate all Learn & Earn program activities including academic support mentoring tutoring SAT preparation leadership development college and career exploration and educational workshops.
Recruit enroll assess and retain eligible participants in accordance with DYCD program guidelines.
Develop and monitor Individual Service Strategies (ISS) and participant success plans.
Provide case management career coaching and ongoing support to participants.
Monitor participant attendance academic performance and engagement.
Conduct individual and group workshops focused on career readiness financial literacy leadership development and post-secondary planning.
Maintain regular communication with participants families schools and community partners.
Conduct participant recruitment outreach orientations and information sessions in collaboration with school staff and community partners.
Workforce Development & Career Readiness
Coordinate work readiness training and career exploration activities.
Connect participants to the Summer Internship Program (SIP) and other work-based learning opportunities.
Support participants with resume development interview preparation job search strategies and workplace professionalism.
Assist youth in identifying and pursuing employment college vocational training apprenticeships and other post-secondary opportunities.
Facilitate employer engagement activities career panels job shadowing opportunities and workplace visits.
Partnership Development
Build and maintain relationships with schools colleges employers community organizations and service providers.
Coordinate college visits guest speaker presentations and leadership development opportunities.
Collaborate with stakeholders to increase participant access to educational and workforce opportunities.
Serve as the primary liaison between HANAC schools employers and community partners.
Compliance Documentation & Reporting
Ensure compliance with all DYCD Learn & Earn contractual requirements policies and performance standards.
Maintain participant files in accordance with DYCD WIOA and HANAC record retention and case management requirements.
Maintain accurate participant files assessments attendance records case notes and supporting documentation.
Monitor data entry and reporting requirements using DYCD and agency databases.
Track program outcomes performance measures and participant progress toward goals.
Prepare reports and documentation required by funders management and regulatory agencies.
Support audits monitoring visits and quality assurance reviews.
Follow-Up Services
Provide up to one year of follow-up support for program graduates.
Track participant outcomes related to employment education training and credential attainment.
Maintain regular contact with alumni and provide referrals to supportive services as needed.
Administrative Responsibilities
Attend staff meetings trainings professional development opportunities and DYCD meetings as required.
Assist with special events recruitment initiatives and community outreach efforts.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support program goals and organizational needs.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Associates Degree required; Bachelors Degree preferred in Education Social Work Human Services Workforce Development Counseling or a related field.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with youth development education workforce development case management or related programs.
Experience working with at-risk youth and underserved communities strongly preferred.
Knowledge of DYCD WIOA workforce development and youth programming preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of positive youth development principles.
Excellent interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate youth from diverse backgrounds.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience maintaining confidential participant information.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Google Workspace and data management systems.
Ability to analyze data and track program performance outcomes.
