Position Description:

CGI is seeking a Product Owner to lead product planning backlog management and specification development for Agile delivery teams operating in a highly regulated financial services environment. This role serves as the primary link between business stakeholders technology teams engineering and design ensuring product requirements are clearly defined testable and aligned with strategic objectives before development begins.

We partner with 15 of the top 20 banks globally and our top 10 banking clients have worked with us for an average of 26 years!.
This role is located at a client site in Washington DC. A hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

CGI is seeking a Product Owner to lead product planning backlog management and specification development for Agile delivery teams operating in a highly regulated financial services environment. This role serves as the primary link between business stakeholders technology teams engineering and design ensuring product requirements are clearly defined testable and aligned with strategic objectives before development begins.

The Product Owner is responsible for prioritizing work based on business value user needs risk considerations governance requirements and delivery readiness. Working closely with cross-functional teams this individual will translate business goals into actionable requirements acceptance criteria and measurable outcomes while driving alignment throughout the product development lifecycle.

Success in this role requires strong stakeholder management Agile delivery experience backlog ownership and the ability to balance business priorities with technical feasibility. The Product Owner will also oversee governance processes facilitate team ceremonies support release readiness and continuously improve product specification quality and team effectiveness.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. 5 years of experience in Product Owner Product Analyst Business Analyst or related product delivery roles within Agile environments.
. Strong Product Ownership or Product Analysis experience within Agile delivery environments
. Proven ability to manage and prioritize product backlogs based on business value and strategic objectives
. Experience writing detailed business requirements user stories acceptance criteria and functional specifications
. Ability to translate complex business needs into clear testable and traceable requirements
. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across business technology engineering and design teams
. Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies including daily standups backlog refinement sessions sprint planning and reviews
. Understanding of governance risk compliance and documentation requirements within regulated environments
. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate trade-offs and delivery impacts
. Experience supporting software delivery lifecycles from requirements through release readiness
. Familiarity with cloud-based technology environments particularly AWS and modern digital product delivery practices
. Strong communication presentation and decision-making abilities
. Experience using Agile tools such as Jira Confluence Azure DevOps or similar platforms

Desired Skillset:

. Agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) or similar are preferred
. 2 years working within financial services banking mortgage lending or other regulated industries
. Experience supporting cloud-based platforms and AWS-enabled product ecosystems

Education:
Bachelors degree in Business Information Systems Computer Science Engineering Finance or a related field

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set level experience relevant training and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $95800.00 - $136400.00.
