Job Description:
P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School (DRS) is seeking to hire a Pre-K-5 Visual Arts Instructor for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a 10-month .50 (OPS) position that begins on July 30 2026. Teaching responsibilities include:
Provide high-quality visual arts instruction to assigned Pre-K5 students fostering creativity artistic skill development and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
Administer and analyze formative assessments student artwork and performance tasks to monitor growth provide feedback and adjust instruction to support student success.
Design and implement engaging standards-aligned art curriculum and learning experiences that meet the needs of a diverse group of learners including both striving and advanced students.
Differentiate instruction and provide appropriate accommodations and modifications to ensure all students can access and succeed in the visual arts curriculum.
Incorporate effective and innovative uses of technology to support artistic creation teaching learning collaboration and digital citizenship in a 1:1 learning environment.
Maintain regular communication with families through electronic written and face-to-face interactions to share student progress celebrate accomplishments and strengthen home-school partnerships.
Analyze the impact of instructional practices curriculum implementation and student engagement on learning outcomes to continuously improve teaching and student achievement.
Showcase student learning through displays exhibitions performances and community engagement opportunities that celebrate student creativity and growth.
Collaborate with colleagues to integrate the arts across content areas and support school-wide initiatives that enhance student learning and engagement.
Expected Salary:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Required Qualifications:
AA Degree required Level 2 DCF Background check required
Preferred:
Bachelors degree & teaching experience
Florida teaching certification
