Sr Physical Security Engineer

Responsibilities
The Sr. Physical Security Engineer is a client-facing technical practitioner within WWTs SC&E Physical Security practice responsible for translating Architect-approved designs into executed deployments. Working alongside the Sr. Physical Security Architect this role owns the implementation documentation client delivery and field presence that bring enterprise-grade physical security programs to life - from the first installation call through final commissioning and project closeout.
Day-to-day you will develop Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and Deployment Guides from the Architects approved design packages present those deliverables to client stakeholders and lead the go/no-go call for deployment readiness. You are the primary technical resource on daytime installation calls and the backup owner for overnight cutovers. You will configure and commission access control video surveillance and intrusion detection systems - and ensure every deployment meets the standards the Architect defined and approved. Strong troubleshooting skills and deep platform familiarity are essential; so is the poise to represent WWT in front of clients during high-stakes deployment windows.
This role is designed for a practitioner who has mastered the technical execution side of physical security and is ready to grow. Strong Engineers who develop design instincts platform breadth and consultative presence have a clear path toward the Sr. Physical Security Architect role as the practice scales.
Responsibilities
Develop Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and Deployment Guides from Architect-approved design packages; incorporate Architect review feedback prior to client delivery
Present approved MOPs and Deployment Guides to client stakeholders; lead the go/no-go call for deployment readiness
Serve as the primary technical resource on daytime client installation calls; provide backup coverage for overnight cutovers and critical system transitions
Configure and commission enterprise-grade access control video management and intrusion detection systems across client environments
Validate system functionality against design specifications; own punch list resolution and acceptance testing
Produce as-built documentation closeout packages and post-deployment reports following project completion
Troubleshoot integration issues across physical security subsystems and IP network infrastructure during deployment; escalate design-level conflicts to the Architect with clear documented context
Coordinate with general contractors low-voltage subcontractors and client IT teams to ensure deployment execution aligns with the Architect-approved plan and project schedule
Support the Architect in developing bills of materials (BOMs) hardware specifications and technical scoping documents
Maintain platform certifications on physical security stack and stay current on product updates and release notes
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has spent 5 8 years doing real physical security work - configuring systems troubleshooting integrations and documenting what was built. You dont need to have run engagements solo yet but you do need to know what a clean deployment looks like and be ready to own one.
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Electronic Engineering Technology Information Technology or a related technical field - or equivalent professional experience
5 8 years of hands-on experience in physical security systems integration installation engineering or design support
Demonstrated experience producing technical documentation: MOPs deployment guides as-built drawings or equivalent field closeout deliverables
Hands-on configuration and commissioning experience with at least one Tier 1 enterprise platform: Genetec Security Center Lenel/LenelS2 OnGuard Software House C*CURE 9000 or Milestone xProtect
Working knowledge of IP networking fundamentals: VLANs PoE switches camera network segmentation
Experience reading and working from issued-for-construction (IFC) drawings riser diagrams and point-to-point wiring diagrams
ASIS PSP (Physical Security Professional) - preferred or willingness to obtain within 18 months
Proficiency with security design software for as-built documentation - Visio Avigilon design tools System Surveyor AutoCAD or equivalent (preferred)
Experience with intrusion detection system programming (DSC Bosch Honeywell) - preferred
Required Technical Skills
Genetec Security Center - configuration device onboarding event management
Lenel / LenelS2 OnGuard or Software House C*CURE 9000 - at least one at configuration depth
