Job Summary

The Operations Support Intern provides administrative and operational support to the operations team while gaining hands-on experience in healthcare operations recruiting and business development. This role is designed for students or recent graduates interested in developing a career in healthcare operations management or business administration. The intern will assist with staffing coordination recruiting support and operational projects while shadowing leadership roles to gain a comprehensive understanding of day-to-day business operations within a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the operations team with administrative and operational tasks that support daily office functions

  • Support staffing coordination efforts by assisting with filling open shifts and communicating with field staff and families

  • Support recruiting by assisting with candidate sourcing outreach and scheduling interviews

  • Shadow operations clinical and corporate leadership to gain exposure to various operational functions

  • Participate in business development activities and community outreach as directed

  • Complete a special project that utilizes analytical research or operational skills (Depending on University requirements)

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Develop a deeper understanding of healthcare business operations business development and growth strategies within the home care industry.

  • Build foundational recruiting and talent acquisition skills including candidate sourcing screening interview scheduling.

  • Develop professional relationships within the organization through mentorship shadowing and cross-functional exposure.

  • Apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects assignments and operational tasks that support the goals of the organization.

  • Explore career paths within healthcare operations and administration

Supervision & Support

  • The intern will report directly to our Director of Operations and will also receive mentorship and strategic guidance from the Area Director of Operations

  • Ongoing mentorship and guidance will be provided to support professional development

  • The intern will receive a mid-term and final performance evaluation which will be shared with the faculty supervisor

  • The organization will participate in a scheduled video or on-site visitation with the faculty supervisor if required

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing Associates or bachelors degree in healthcare administration Business Administration Marketing Public Health or a related field

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Organized detail-oriented and eager to learn

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office

  • Interest in healthcare operations business development or business administration preferred
