Position Overview
At Foundation Building Materials (FBM) Operations Managers are key to smooth efficient branch performance. With a focus on safety service and results youll lead daily operations support your team and drive business success. Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Direct and coordinate overall operations to ensure maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Plan develop and implement operational policies across warehousing transportation and customer service
- Design and manage a central dispatch system for improved logistics and workflow
- Outline and implement operational changes and continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor and manage operating budgets for warehouse manufacturing and trucking
- Ensure trucking operations comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
- Oversee warehouse conditions equipment and storage utilization
- Coordinate with Purchasing and Receiving to ensure accurate and timely product arrivals
- Maintain communication with vendors on issues such as missing materials backorders and delivery challenges
- Ensure delivery of high-quality products and services to customers
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers
- Represent the company professionally in all customer and vendor interactions
- Research and implement technologies to enhance operational competitiveness
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive business information including personnel pricing customer data and distribution methods
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the branch and corporate objectives
- Knowledge of basic construction materials and optimal product distribution
- Bachelors degree in Management or related field or equivalent experience
- At least 2 years of management experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to lead motivate and build a successful team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Knowledge of the building materials industry
