About the Role
This role is built for someone who can balance policy ownership with deep firewall engineering. Youll govern how the enterprise connects who connects and under what controls - while being the go-to authority on firewall rule bases and network security standards.
What Youll Do
- Serve as the approver and consultant for internal and external network connection requests.
- Define maintain and enforce policies covering external connectivity and network control points.
- Review exception requests and sign off on deviations from established security standards.
- Provide stewardship over the Enterprise Firewall Port Opening Request (POR) workflow.
- Maintain working relationships with network connection owners to keep risks visible and mitigated.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls.
- Proven background managing network security policies and firewall rule bases.
- AlgoSec working experience.
- Cisco ISE experience.
Technical Background Expected
- Working knowledge of Fortinet and Cisco firewall platforms plus IPSec VPN.
- Strong grasp of TCP/IP fundamentals and broader network security concepts.
- Familiarity across firewall tech network authentication encryption standards VPN intrusion detection and perimeter defense.
Bonus Points For
- Network automation chops - Ansible Python REST APIs or similar.
