Job Summary:
We are seeking a full-time Network Engineer to manage the day-to-day operations service desk and IT infrastructure of the Missoula Discovery Network. You will be primarily based on-site at the Missoula Fire Lab to ensure network availability security and compliance with the Authority to Operate (ATO).
Key Responsibilities:
Service Desk Operations: Manage help desk support procedures assist users with network access and unlock user accounts.
Infrastructure Management: Install configure manage and troubleshoot hardware and software associated with the Discovery Network.
Network Maintenance: Complete applicable OS updates review security advisory alerts and perform root cause analysis troubleshooting.
Security & Compliance: Ensure systems are scanned and remediated per USDA policy conduct quarterly log audits and maintain software/hardware inventories.
Monitoring & Communication: Notify stakeholders of outages via email and Microsoft Teams and continuously monitor environment performance.
Account Management: Perform user account reviews for privileged accounts quarterly and non-privileged accounts yearly.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Proven experience in network administration help desk support and IT infrastructure troubleshooting.
Familiarity with maintaining active directories DNS entries and VLAN/subnet configurations.
Cisco Certified Field Technician (Highly Preferred).
CompTIA Security (Highly Preferred).
CompTIA Network (Highly Preferred).
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a USDA LincPass (HSPD-12 PIV card).
Required Skills:
Qualifications: Proven experience in network administration help desk support and IT infrastructure troubleshooting. Familiarity with maintaining active directories DNS entries and VLAN/subnet configurations. Cisco Certified Field Technician (Highly Preferred). CompTIA Security (Highly Preferred). CompTIA Network (Highly Preferred). Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a USDA LincPass (HSPD-12 PIV card).
