Job Duties
Design and Development:
Create and refine mechanical components and processes using CAD software.
Develop prototypes and oversee testing to validate design functionality and performance.
Ensure components meet customer specifications.
Analysis and Problem-Solving:
Work closely with cross-functional teams including manufacturing quality and procurement to support project objectives.
Communicate technical findings and project updates to stakeholders.
Manage project timelines and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
Manufacturing Support:
Assist in the transition of components to production.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve production challenges.
Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Compliance and Documentation:
Maintain accurate engineering documentation including technical drawings processes and specifications.
Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards and regulations.
Ensure compliance with Rands AS9100 Quality Management System
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or a related field Preferred.
Experience in Defense related Manufacturing is a plus.
Experience with CNC machining is a plus.
Prior Management Experience is a plus.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD or Creo).
Strong analytical skills.
Knowledge of materials science manufacturing processes and mechanical systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Strong communication and project management skills.
