Mechanic

ITU AbsorbTech is hiring a Mechanic to join our Fleet team in New Berlin WI.

In this role you will:

• Diagnose troubleshoot and repair gas and diesel fleet vehicles including engines transmissions brakes steering suspension hydraulic lift gates and electrical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections in accordance with established maintenance schedules.
• Clean inspect and maintain fleet vehicles to ensure operational readiness.
• Complete emergency roadside service calls within the service area as needed.
• Install and remove vehicle decals and replace mechanical components including motors pumps and gearboxes.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders.
• Train new drivers and provide guidance to less experienced fleet employees.
• Operate snow removal equipment and perform de-icing activities during winter weather events.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA DOT and company safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule: 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday with a start time between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Schedule flexibility is required including travel to other ITU AbsorbTech locations such as Madison WI; Neenah WI; Wausau; and Elk Grove Village IL based on business needs.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5-years of fleet diesel or automotive maintenance experience required.
• Technical degree in diesel or automotive technology Class A CDL and MIG/TIG welding experience preferred.
• Experience repairing commercial vehicles and working with mechanical hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings and operate standard shop equipment and mechanics tools.
• Safe driving record required.
• Strong troubleshooting communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based maintenance systems.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid DOT Medical Card and provide personal hand tools.
