Local CDL Driver

Previous waste industry experience is a big plusbut not required. Were happy to train the right person!

The schedule is MondayFriday from 6am-2:30pm depending on route.

The starting pay $36.59/hr with an increase to $37.87/hr after a 90-day review.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a garbage truck on designated routes to collect solid waste. Waste experience is preferred but not required.

• Read route sheets and service each customer listed or assigned by the dispatcher.

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles including checking fluids safety equipment and tires.

• Perform a physically demanding job including loading and unloading sometimes without assistance.

• Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.

• Interact courteously with customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

• Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

• Requires extensive physical activity including heavy lifting pushing or pulling objects over 50 pounds.

• Work environment involves exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts requiring basic safety precautions.

• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions including frequent wet and/or humid environments as well as fumes and vibrations.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement required Class A CDL Preferred

• Clean driving record (please bring a copy of your MVR to the in-person interview)

• Ability to operate 10- 13- and 18-speed transmissions (preferred not required)

• Minimum 1 year of relevant driving experience

• Ability to read write and communicate in English

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Safety-Sensitive YES (Drug Test Required)
