Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse
Location: Tucson Arizona
Duration: 16 Weeks
Schedule: 12-Hour Day & Night Shifts (6:00 AM 6:30 PM)
Hours: 40 Hours Weekly (Alternating 36/48-Hour Weeks)
Compensation
- Local Pay: $37$40/hr ($1387$1500 weekly) based on experience
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide quality geriatric nursing care in a long-term care and rehabilitation environment. The LPN will deliver direct patient care administer medications and treatments supervise support staff and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure residents receive comprehensive and compassionate care. Candidates must be flexible with scheduling including weekend coverage and alternating weekly hours.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed within scope of practice
- Perform wound care catheter care tracheostomy care gastrostomy/jejunostomy care and other nursing procedures
- Monitor residents conditions and report changes to supervising RN or physician
- Observe and document effectiveness of medications and treatments
- Complete admission assessments and maintain accurate patient documentation
- Participate in shift reports and communicate resident needs with interdisciplinary team members
- Supervise and support CNAs and other nursing staff as assigned
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing dressing and mobility support
- Maintain appropriate inventory of medical supplies and medications
- Participate in quality improvement infection control and staff development initiatives
- Respond promptly and effectively during emergency situations
- Train and orient new employees as assigned
- Attend staff meetings and contribute to team-based patient care planning
Required Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program
Certifications & Licensure
- Active Arizona LPN license required
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
- Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card required
- TB two-step screening required
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination required
Required Skills & Experience
- Previous LPN experience in long-term care rehabilitation or geriatric nursing preferred
- Strong knowledge of geriatric nursing practices and patient care procedures
- Ability to supervise and support subordinate staff
- Experience administering medications and performing nursing treatments
- Strong communication teamwork and organizational skills
- Ability to work weekends and follow block scheduling requirements
- Ability to work alternating 36-hour and 48-hour weeks
