ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Legal Counsel serves as Teagues chief legal officer and primary attorney providing the main source of legal advice across the organization. A dynamic hands-on leader this role balances high-level legal judgment with day-to-day execution ensuring Teagueoperateswithin the law at all times limiting risk exposure and protecting the companys financial well-being and long-term viability.
Reporting directly to the VP of Operations the Legal Counsel is a trusted voice at the board and executive table integral to business decisions across contracts compliance employment IP and regulatory matters including negotiating services agreements with all client partners ranging from startups to large corporations like Boeing. The role also serves as Corporate Secretary supporting Teagues governance and Board-level responsibilities.
By translating complex legal and regulatory considerations into clear actionable guidance the Legal Counsel enables Teagues leadership to make confident well-informed decisions that safeguard the companys integrity reputation and future.

Travel domestically and internationally less than 5% of the time to support client and/or vendor meetings.

WHAT YOULL DO:
OWNING
- Own Teagues legalriskposture ensuring contracts compliance and governance commitments are met with integrity and transparency.
- Represent Teague credibly and effectively with clients outside counsel regulators and other external stakeholders.
- Lead high-stakes and high-ambiguity legal matters including disputes regulatory inquiries and sensitive employment or labor issues proactivelyidentifyingand addressing risk before it compounds.
- Exercisesoundlegal and business judgment in sensitive confidential or politically complex situations.
- Coordinate with the Facilities Team on leasing and management of multiple large warehouse and office properties
- Build trust with the Executive Team and Board through discretion composure transparency and consistent follow-through.
THINKING
- Serve as a strategic legal advisor to Teagues leadership shaping decisions related to deal structure organizational design commercial models and other business priorities.
- Anticipate legal and regulatory exposure by considering industry trends including the evolving aerospace and defense regulatory landscape alongside Teagues long-term business goals.
- Identifyopportunities to modernize andimprove howlegal support is delivered across the organization including technology processes and outside counsel management.
- Challenge legacy approaches when they no longer serve Teagues scale business needs or evolving risk profile.
- Provide leadership and guidance on the responsible integration of artificial intelligence across the business helpingestablishappropriate legal compliance and risk-management practices.
- Assistoutside ESOP counsel in the design and administration of equity compensation plans.
DOING
- Provide practical hands-on legal counsel across Teagues core areas of need including employment law ESOP matters commercial contracts intellectual property cybersecurity and aerospace/export compliance.
- Independently manage matters within core areas of expertise while strategically engaging outside counsel when specialized oradditionalsupport iswarranted.
- Translate complex legal issues into clear actionable guidance that enables non-legal leaders to make informed business decisions.
- Maintain and strengthen Teagues compliance practices proactivelyidentifyinggapsand protecting the organizations legal and reputational interests.
- Partner with HR Finance Operations and other teams to build legal and risk awareness into day-to-day decision-making.
- Oversee corporate legaldepartmentrecord-keeping and document management.
WHAT YOU BRING:
Experience
- 10 years of legal experience including contract drafting and advising on corporate governance
- Licensed to practice law in at least one
- Demonstrated sound judgment in ambiguous situations and skill in driving consensus among diverse stakeholders
Legal Expertise
- Corporate governance includingadvisingthe Board of Directors drafting minutes and processing board consents and approvals
- Corporate and commercial transactions intellectual property real estate leasing and employment law.
- Substantial experience leading negotiation of client Master Services Agreements NDAs and outside vendor/customer services agreements
- Risk management and contractual risk identification and mitigation
- Labor and employment law (working knowledge) supports Corporate & HR teams on policy matters escalating to outside counsel as needed
- FAA FAR and DFAR regulatory experience
- U.S. and foreign data privacy and security compliance (working knowledge) with escalation to outside legal experts as needed
- Litigation and private dispute resolution experience
- Experience supporting Artificial Intelligence corporate governance data privacy/security compliance and regulatory certification initiatives
- Background as outside counsel or professional services advisor interfacing with clients ranging from startups to large enterprises
Business & Leadership Acumen
- Strong business and financial acumen including legal budgeting forecasting and cost control
- Sound ethical judgment balancing ESOP shareholder interests with corporate social responsibility
- Skilled relationship-builder and collaborator across executive leadership project management and business development teams
- Political savvy tact and the ability to counsel senior leadership through sensitive matters
- Client-focused entrepreneurial proactive and pragmatic problem-solver
- Ability to recognize matters requiring elevated review by senior management and support go/no-go pursuit decisions
- Experience managing outside counsel and coordinating with accounting and other professional advisors
- Proactive in monitoring and communicating changes in relevant law and regulation
- Familiarity with aviation technology defense and space industries preferred
The salary range for this job in most US geographic locationsis$170000 - $210000.This role is eligible to earn a Short-Term Incentive Plan (STIP) bonus of up to 10% of base salary based on individual and company performance.
This role is structured as a 0.75 FTE position averaging approximately 30 hours per week. We recognize that flexibility can look different for everyone so the specific schedule will beestablishedcollaboratively while ensuring consistent support for the team our clients and project needs.
