TheLearning Management Technician (196) provides direct technology and instructional support to students to ensure uninterrupted access to online curriculum and digital learning resources in the educational environment. This position supports instructional software online learning platforms and technology-based classroom instruction and assessments. The role directly supports student learning by ensuring students have reliable access to digital instructional tools and academic support resources.
This position operates in a high-demand fast-paced environment and requires a high level of accuracy organization and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while supporting a large volume of student support requests across multiple campuses within the assigned network.
This position directly supports student access to instructional technology digital curriculum and online learning resources. Responsibilities are aligned with instructional support functions that enhance student learning and technology integration making the role an allowable salary expense under instructional technology and IMA-supported activities.
Qualifications (Education/Experience):
High school diploma or equivalent required
Associates degree or higher preferred
Minimum of 13 years of technology support data entry or academic support experience in a fast-paced environment (school-based experience preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a school setting supporting classroom instruction and educational technology
Familiarity with student information systems (e.g. Skyward PowerSchool or similar platforms)
Knowledge of Texas high school graduation requirements and online instructional systems
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong technology skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel Word and Google Workspace
Experience with or ability to learn student information systems and instructional platforms (e.g. Skyward BrightThinker IXL)
Excellent data entry skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced high-volume environment with frequent interruptions
Ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to instructional technology
Key Responsibilities
Student Technology & Instructional Support
Provide direct technical assistance to students using computers instructional software and digital learning platforms
Assist students with login issues password resets device access and connectivity problems
Support students during technology-based instructional activities online assessments and digital learning initiatives
Guide students in the appropriate and effective use of instructional technology resources
Assist students with accessing online curriculum digital coursework and instructional applications
Support documentation and tracking of student academic plans and progress toward graduation
Instructional Systems & Operations Support
Support the daily operation of instructional technology systems and student learning platforms
Assist campus staff with troubleshooting instructional software and digital learning tools
Monitor and respond to student support requests in a timely and professional manner
Maintain accurate records of support requests technology issues and resolutions
Compliance & Confidentiality
Ensure adherence to district policies FERPA and Texas state regulations regarding student records and digital resources
Maintain strict confidentiality of student information and academic records
Work with frequent interruptions work with frequent deadlines and maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional prolonged or irregular hours. Regular district wide travel to multiple work locations as assigned; moderate lifting and carrying.
