Lead Software Engineer

Hologic is seeking aLead Software Engineerto help design and develop secure cloud- and edge-based solutions that power the next generation ofAI-enabled medical this role you will work at the intersection ofcloud platforms AI integration and regulated medical device software contributing to innovative technologies that advance diagnostics and improve patient care.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams acrossProduct Management DevOps Product Security and Software Quality Assuranceto build scalable secure and compliant solutions that support Hologics mission to transform womens health.

What Youll Do

• Design and developcloud and edge software solutionsthat integrate with AI-enabled medical devices.
• Contribute to architectural decisions involvingcloud platforms deployment strategies and system security.
• Partner withProduct Management Regulatory and Design Assuranceteams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Work closely withDevOps IT and Product Securityto ensure secure development and deployment pipelines.
• Supportverification and validation activitiesalongside Software Quality Assurance engineers.
• Review code and technical deliverables to ensure alignment with design standards and quality expectations.
• Ensure development processes align withmedical device regulations and quality standards including FDA and ISO 13485.
• Promote best practices insecure software development testing and documentation.
• Foster a culture ofcontinuous improvement collaboration and knowledge sharingwithin the engineering team.

What Were Looking For

Education

• Bachelors Masters or PhD in Computer Science Software Engineering or another STEM-related field.

Experience

• 68 years of experience insoftware engineering with a focus oncloud and edge-based systems.

Knowledge & Expertise

• Experience developing software inregulated environments preferably within medical devices or healthcare technology.
• Strong understanding ofsecure software development practicesand regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity withQuality Management Systems (QMS)and regulated development processes.
• Experience integratingAI capabilities into cloud or edge-based applications.
• Proficiency withAgile development methodologies and version control systems.

Technical Skills

• Experience withmajor cloud platforms particularlyMicrosoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong background incontainerization orchestration and configuration management.
• Expertise insoftware testing practices including unit integration and system testing.
• Experience working ondistributed development teams using modern collaboration tools.
• Strong troubleshooting debugging and problem-solving skills.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Proven ability tolead technical decisions and mentor engineers.
• Strong communication skills able to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively incross-functional and remote teams.
• Commitment toquality compliance and patient safety.

The annualized base salary range for this role $128200 - $200500 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience skillset knowledge geography education business needs and market demand.
