Job Summary

Position Summary

The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing and controlling all inventory operations across Reeder Distributors including fuel equipment fuel and lube products and construction project inventory. This role ensures inventory accuracy operational efficiency accountability across all warehouse and inventory locations as well as maintaining organization and flow of the warehouses.

The Inventory Manager will lead inventory control processes manage cycle count programs reconcile month-end inventory variances oversee transfers and receiving activities and develop procedures that support accurate inventory tracking and operational excellence. This position plays a critical role in supporting service installation sales and warehouse operations throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Control & Accuracy

  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels across all divisions and warehouse locations.
  • Lead and manage daily inventory control activities including: Receiving Transfers Staging Returns Adjustments Inventory transactions Warranties.
  • Monitor inventory movement and ensure all transactions are properly documented and processed in the ERP/accounting system.
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies and variances.
  • Minimize dead inventory.
  • Monitor inventory movement for bulk tanks totes drums pails and packaged liquid products to ensure accurate tracking and reconciliation.
  • Monitor product aging contamination risks and slow-moving liquid inventory.

Cycle Counts & Reconciliation

  • Develop and manage an organized cycle count program for all inventory categories.
  • Lead warehouse teams in completing routine cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Reconcile month-end inventory variances and provide reporting to leadership.
  • Identify root causes of inventory issues and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy.
  • Reconcile daily weekly and monthly liquid inventory balances against sales deliveries usage and physical measurements.
  • Investigate and resolve liquid inventory variances shortages overages and potential product losses.
  • Support implementation of inventory controls to minimize product loss theft and recording errors.

Process Improvement

  • Establish and improve inventory control procedures workflows and warehouse organization standards.
  • Create standardized inventory processes across all departments and locations.
  • Analyze inventory trends and recommend operational improvements to reduce shrinkage errors and excess inventory.
  • Ensure inventory practices support operational efficiency and customer service needs.
  • Develop standardized procedures for handling counting measuring and tracking liquid inventory.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and support warehouse and inventory personnel involved in inventory handling purchasing and control.
  • Train team members on inventory procedures scanning processes transfers and cycle count expectations.
  • Promote accountability and accuracy throughout warehouse operations.
  • Coordinate with purchasing operations sales accounting and service departments to maintain inventory integrity.

Reporting & Systems

  • Generate inventory reports variance analysis and inventory performance metrics.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within company systems.
  • Assist in forecasting inventory needs and identifying slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
  • Support implementation and optimization of inventory management tools and systems.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of inventory management warehouse management or supply chain experience.
  • Experience managing large and diverse inventories across multiple product categories.
  • Experience with BOMs and manufacturing inventory processes.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control procedures cycle counting and reconciliation processes.
  • Experience with ERP warehouse management or inventory systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead teams and drive accountability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and inventory reporting.
  • Forklift and warehouse operations experience preferred.
