SUMMARY:
The Instructor for the College of Innovation and Design is a twelve month full-time non tenure track remote (online) position. This position teaches in the Master of Science in Organizational Leadership in the competency-based education format. Instructors at East Texas A&M University are required to work cooperatively with others and contribute service to their discipline the university and the community. Occasional travel to the East Texas A&M University campus and/or the Dallas site will be required.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- As assigned by the Assistant Dean and under the direction of the Dean serve as instructor of record for discipline-specific courses within the College of Innovation and Design.
- Responsible for providing instruction and on-demand assistance with content in the major coursework and/or selected electives. The primary role of the instructor is to engage the student during the learning process and provide student-centered approaches to instruction. Additionally the instructor will be expected to provide timely feedback and evaluation/assessment on assignments and issues that might affect student success.
- Deliver classroom blended/hybrid and/or online course instruction in regular or accelerated formats utilizing innovative techniques to engage students and meet their learning needs.
- Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours and provide timely feedback on assignments assessments and evaluations to ensure student progression through competencies and other course materials.
- Be fully active in creating and maintaining a positive learning environment that fosters student success and completion of activities in a timely manner.
- Utilize student metrics/data to provide assistance to individual students regarding progress and evaluation of course activities and maintain an up-to-date gradebook in D2L.
- Work with students on graduate level research projects leading them and supporting them in the research process
- Oversight of program-level comprehensive exams and fulfillment of Graduate School graduate school requirements for graduation
- Work with struggling students by providing them with one to one support collaborating with and/or referring to academic success teams and concierge as needed.
- Ensure course materials are maintained updated finalized and ready/complete for subject area each term.
- Participate in departmental and program reviews and with members of the advisory committee(s) and program staff regarding curriculum materials for the subject area individual student needs and any other program areas as needed.
- Participate in service assignments as well as college and university-wide initiatives as requested by program and/or department/college.
- Submit annual institutional effectiveness data.
- Assist in course creation and curriculum development for discipline-specific courses in the College of Innovation and Design.
- Participate in and/or coordinate recruitment-related events throughout the larger DallasFort Worth metropolitan area as needed. This responsibility may require local travel and availability to attend events with limited advance notice in support of departmental and organizational needs.
- Contribute to departmental or university committees as assigned in fulfillment of service requirement.
- Complete all required trainings in a timely manner.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Education:Terminal degree in organizational leadership or closely-related field with 18-hours in field/subject area OR Masters degree in organizational leadership or closely related field with terminal degree in closely related field.
- Industry Experience:At least 5 years of industry experience in the field of Organizational Leadership.
- Knowledge / Skills: Proficient with computers and Microsoft Word PowerPoint and Excel. Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to:Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with team.
- Licensing/Professional Certifications:Possess licenses and/or certifications applicable to the field of organizational leadership.

- Other Requirements:Position will require work after business hours and on weekends.
PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
- Education or experience with a corporate training emphasis
- Education Teaching experience in the field of Organizational Leadership
- Evidence of community college/university-level teaching experience with a commitment to high-quality teaching.
- Evidence of research related to the organizational leadership field
- Experience teaching online courses at the college level.
- Experience teaching competency-based courses or courses for adult completers.
- Experience with learning management systems such as Canvas Blackboard or D2L.
SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:
May supervise graduate students or student workers.
