We are a growing mid-sized law firm seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support our attorneys and professional staff across multiple practice areas. This is a key role within the organization offering the opportunity to serve as both a strategic partner and hands-on HR professional in a collaborative professional services environment.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented approachable and experienced in managing a wide range of HR functions while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
What Youll Do
Employee Relations & HR Operations
- Serve as a trusted resource for employee questions related to policies benefits and workplace matters
- Advise managers and leadership on performance employee relations and disciplinary actions
- Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records
- Support employee engagement retention and professional development initiatives
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for attorneys paralegals and administrative staff
- Draft job postings screen candidates and coordinate interviews
- Oversee onboarding processes including offer letters background checks and orientation
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning and succession strategies
Compliance & Policy Management
- Ensure compliance with federal state and local employment laws
- Maintain and update HR policies and the employee handbook
- Support workplace investigations and compliance-related matters
- Administer leave programs (FMLA ADA workers compensation and state-specific leaves)
Benefits & Payroll Support
- Administer employee benefits programs (health dental vision retirement)
- Serve as liaison with benefits providers and vendors
- Assist with payroll processing and audits in collaboration with Finance
- Coordinate open enrollment and monitor benefits utilization
Performance & Development
- Coordinate performance review processes
- Support training initiatives continuing education (CLE) and staff development
- Partner with managers on goal setting coaching and feedback
What You Bring
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 47 years of progressive HR experience
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Experience in a professional services or legal environment preferred
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
