We are a growing mid-sized law firm seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support our attorneys and professional staff across multiple practice areas. This is a key role within the organization offering the opportunity to serve as both a strategic partner and hands-on HR professional in a collaborative professional services environment.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented approachable and experienced in managing a wide range of HR functions while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.

What Youll Do

Employee Relations & HR Operations

  • Serve as a trusted resource for employee questions related to policies benefits and workplace matters
  • Advise managers and leadership on performance employee relations and disciplinary actions
  • Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records
  • Support employee engagement retention and professional development initiatives

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for attorneys paralegals and administrative staff
  • Draft job postings screen candidates and coordinate interviews
  • Oversee onboarding processes including offer letters background checks and orientation
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning and succession strategies

Compliance & Policy Management

  • Ensure compliance with federal state and local employment laws
  • Maintain and update HR policies and the employee handbook
  • Support workplace investigations and compliance-related matters
  • Administer leave programs (FMLA ADA workers compensation and state-specific leaves)

Benefits & Payroll Support

  • Administer employee benefits programs (health dental vision retirement)
  • Serve as liaison with benefits providers and vendors
  • Assist with payroll processing and audits in collaboration with Finance
  • Coordinate open enrollment and monitor benefits utilization

Performance & Development

  • Coordinate performance review processes
  • Support training initiatives continuing education (CLE) and staff development
  • Partner with managers on goal setting coaching and feedback

What You Bring

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 47 years of progressive HR experience
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Experience in a professional services or legal environment preferred
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
